July 29, 2016 Week #3 LAST LETTER FROM THE MTC

Only 3 more days and here I come Guam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited-- y'all have no idea! Got my flight plans, too, last Saturday!!! We leave Monday morning at 2:30 AM hah and then our flight takes off to LAX at 6:00 AM. Should I call you that early at like 4 AM haha? We then have an hour layover in LAX so we will be pretty rushed so I'm not sure if I can call home then. But then we fly to Honolulu, Hawaii and have a 3 hour layover then. Not sure what time again I will have to check. I'll post the picture of our flight plans. And then after that we fly to GUAMMM! YESS I'm so pumped! We land it Guam at 6:00 PM on Tuesday night. I'm not to sure what i'm going to do on the plane that whole time hahah-- probably read my Book of Mormon a few times and my hymn book as well so wish me luck.

This week has been a little long. It's gotten a lot harder but I think that's just because I know that I am so close to getting to Guam. After every time we teach one of our investigators I get way hyped to just get out and teach real people in Micronesia and have investigators of my own. My whole district is sick and the flu is going around this place like crazy so that hasn't been too fun, but all the packages and letters have helped keep me way happy! So thank you:)

Last Sunday we had a special devotional. They had this famous band who is Mormon come play called the Nashville Tribute Band. It's like country church music haha. We weren't too excited about it at first but it ended up being the best thing ever. We all loved it. They had some pretty good songs so look them up. At the end the lead singer sang a solo that he wrote about his misson. He sang about goodbyes and saying goodbye to friends and family and how hard it was saying goodbye to his mom. Then he sang about how his mission was hard but so good and he received so many blessings and brought so many to Christ and the happiness that came from it. The song then ended coming down that escalator after 2 years and how happy it was to see everyone and how amazing it felt. After the song ended he said he wanted everyone to sing it with him this time. They put the words up on the screen and everyone started to sing. About 2 sentences in legit everyone was crying. I couldn't even sing the rest of the song because the tears were just flowing, but don't worry I'm still a man because nobody else could either. As a looked around and saw all 2,400 missionaries here in the MTC crying I noticed how blessed I am to have the family I do and how lucky I am to be able to be out here to serve the Lord. As it mixed with my emotions and made me a little homesick,  it also made me so excited for Guam. I cannot wait any longer haha. Monday morning can't come fast enough!

The spirit is so strong here. I love it. We have lots of fun together as a district but feeling the spirit every single day as much as we do is the coolest thing ever. I've learned a lot here already! Teaching all this though in a different language that i don't even know which one it is yet or simply how to even say "hello" is going to be a struggle, but I know that God blesses His missionaries and will make it possible for me and will bless me so much helping me to learn it. Thanks everyone for the prayers and packages and letters. Again, they mean so much! Next email will be from Guam with some sick pictures so stay tuned! Miss everyone so much.

Week 2 MTC 7/22/2016

WOW this week has been insane! Time has flown by. It seems like i was just typing my last email, but at the same time it seems like I have been here my whole life! So much has happened and i am only getting more and more excited as i am getting closer to Guam. I love it here so much though, but it's Guam!! hahah! My testimony is growing every hour of everyday here. It's exhausting but it feels so good to have the spirit with you all day and teaching has been really fun.

So Sunday night we had a devotional and we watched the video of Elder Bednar called "The Character of Christ." Super good video about missionary work and got me so hyped to be out in the field and do the work. At the end of the video, a door opened that was right next to the stage. Guess who walked out..... ELDER BEDNAR! Ahhh everyone got so excited! We got to hear from him and his wife and they are seriously the funniest and most loving people. They answered questions for 2 hours but it honestly felt like 10 minutes. He's so awesome. The spirit all Sunday was the coolest thing ever. I love it so much.

Tuesday we had a devotional with Elder Clarke from the 70. Yeah I know we are pretty spoiled here. He testified of the obedience of missionary work and it changed my perspective on everything here so much. "Obedience brings blessings, exact obedience brings miracles!" Way sick quote.

I have learned the importance of prayer here and how with faith and sincerity God will answer all of them. My companion and I pray like 30 times a day because it honestly makes everything so much better. God watches out for all of us and loves us so much and when we are putting in the work he will do the rest. Every time!

Everyones' prayers and letters and packages in the mail and DearElders have been so amazing.
You guys have no idea. When i see that i got something, the biggest smile comes to my face and maybe even some sweet dance moves!  hahaha It gets me way hyped!! So THANK YOU:) You guys are honestly the best!

Got to go to the temple again this morning and it was so good! Provo temple is awesome and getting out of the fenced off area of the buildings and being able to cross the street into the real world has been nice too. hahah but i love it here. I love my companion and district more than anything. Gonna be way sad when we go to Guam and get split to our different islands.

God is real. The church is true and He loves us so much! Miss you guys like crazy:)

HELLO FAMILY AND FRIENDS 7/15/2016

FAMILY AND FRIENDS!

Holy cow these past few days have been amazing. I don't know why anyone could ever complain about the MTC because i love it here. I am so happy! My cheeks are so sore because I haven't stopped smiling since i have been here. This place is awesome. I have already seen so many miracles here and my testimony has grown so much. I have received so many answers to my prayers already.

Let me start off by telling you about my companion... or my brother. His name is Elder Glauser. It's the weirdest thing ever because i swear it's like we have been best friends and brothers since we were born. Wayyyy cool!! He's such a stud. We have had a blast together here. We have so much fun together and can laugh for hours but when its time to be serious and respectful it is so easy to be. Teaching lessons with him has been easy because we connect so much and can teach together pretty well for just beginning. I swear we are the same person its pretty cool. Our interests are exactly the same from loving football and basketball to camping to our family life to school to everything, We are the same. I prayed forever about my future companion and God has blessed me so much; it's amazing!

The night we got here we jumped into a big meeting right away with all the new elders and sisters. We started off by singing a song where the spirit was already so strong and nobody could stop smiling. Everyone is so happy here I love it. When the song ended our MTC President's wife got up and had us sing another.... and another.... and another... hahaha-- everyone was laughing but not one person complained because we were enjoying it so much. As i sang i felt so much peace and comfort of being there. I instantly knew that this is where the Lord wants me and what I am doing is best for me and the people i will be serving in Guam.  Coolest feeling ever-- I cannot even really describe it, but it was amazing and i know that i have my Heavenly Father on my side.

Yesterday's classes were amazing. I've already learned so much here. I can't believe that it is already Friday. I don't even know where yesterday went. All i remember is being exhausted at the end of the day ha but it was so good. We woke up and had our first class at 7:30 am. We had a class about our purpose here as missionaries and how we can bring others unto Christ through our purpose. I can't wait to get out and teach the people in Guam already. We also started to teach our first investigator who's name is Tom. We started to teach him about the Plan of Salvation because he doesn't have a religion and is depressed because he is going through a divorce. Our first teaching lesson with him was a little rough but as Elder Glauser and i testified of what we know to be true the spirit was strong and we felt pretty good about it. They have a one sided window mirror for people to observe us. FUNNIEST THING EVER. Remember Rider Markwalter from Texas??? He's here and somehow snuck into that room and last night he showed me his cameras with about 20 pictures of me teaching! hahaha

Anyway my first email is already turning into a sister's email so i better stop ha but I love it here and i love my district and comp. So much fun seeing so many friends here and especially Elder Hilbig. He's a stud.

Love you guys and miss you so so much!
